Pride season may be over, but supporting our LGBTQ+ community doesn’t stop there.
Leeds Pride is launching Support Your Scene, a new campaign designed to encourage people to continue supporting the city’s LGBTQ+ venues, bars and nightlife spaces throughout the year.
Our LGBTQ+ venues are at the forefront of our communities. They provide places where people can meet, make friends, celebrate who they are and feel part of something bigger. They are spaces where countless memories are made, where new relationships and friendships begin and where our community comes together week after week.
But keeping these spaces open and thriving takes continued support.
Following the busy Pride season, we want to encourage people to get back into the venues that help make Leeds’ LGBTQ+ scene what it is. Through a series of social media campaigns, Leeds Pride will be highlighting venues, events and nights across the city, helping shine a light on what’s happening in the scene and encouraging people to get involved.
Pride isn’t just one weekend. Our community is here all year round and so are the spaces that support it.
Whether it’s heading out for a drink, going to see a show, supporting a club night, trying somewhere new or simply spending time with friends, every visit makes a difference.
The campaign will also spotlight individual venues and events, giving people more opportunities to discover what’s happening across Leeds and encouraging everyone to play their part in keeping our scene vibrant.
“We want to make sure the support and energy around Pride continues long after the flags come down,” says Leeds Pride. “Our LGBTQ+ venues are such an important part of our communities. They give people somewhere to belong, and we want to encourage everyone to continue supporting them throughout the year.”
