Accessibility Leeds Pride 2026

Leeds Pride is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all attendees. We recognise the importance of accessibility and strive to ensure that our festivities are enjoyable for everyone.

Leeds Pride is an outdoor festival primarily situated on hard surface highways and pavements. Please note that some areas may be uneven or slippery in adverse weather conditions.

the parade

– Anticipating a record turnout in 2026, we advise participants to arrive at the designated time for their registered floats. Entry for non-registered participants will be allowed once all the floats have started their route down Lower Briggate.

– The parade route features a gentle incline along the Headrow, transitioning to a slight decline on Vicar Lane. There are no barriers along the route, enabling participants to step out if necessary, but we advise caution around floats, vehicles and other attendees.

Lower Briggate Event Space

– Entry to this area will be through one of three main gates situated on tarmac surfaces. Due to expected crowds, particularly between 12:00pm and 4:00pm, please plan accordingly.

– Venues with accessible toilets located in the Lower Briggate Main Site- Bowers Tap, Viaduct Showbar, Queens Court, Malmaison Hotel, Hotel Indigo.

– Access will be governed by security checkpoints involving searches. We encourage attendees to limit their bags to speed up this process. Note that only sealed soft drinks, empty personal water bottles, baby-related drinks and a small amount of food are permitted.

– An accessible viewing platform is available near the main stage, along with accessible toilets. Stewards will be onsite to assist attendees with directions and navigation through the space. To book at place on the platform please email: LeedsLGBT@leeds.gov.uk with your name, contact details and any special requirements you will need on the day.

Viewing Platforms

– The Lower Briggate main stage features a viewing platform. To access the platform, use the gate near the Leeds Marriott Hotel. Please note this area may experience high traffic post-parade from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. To reserve your place, please contact LeedsLGBT@leeds.gov.uk

Quiet Spaces

– For individuals requiring a quieter atmosphere during the Parade, New York Street offers a preferable viewing location. The crowds here are much quieter and a better view is more guaranteed.

Around the Lower Briggate site, our Family Area serves as a designated quiet area. This is also a good place for neurodivergent people.

British Sign Language (BSL) Services

– BSL interpreters will be present on the Lower Briggate Main Stage to facilitate communication.

Assistance Dogs

– Registered assistance dogs are welcome, however we kindly request that attendees consider their welfare in loud and crowded environments.
