Leeds Pride is delighted to announce that they will be supporting Pride Place, the first dedicated LGBTQ+ community and cultural centre in Leeds. Located in the heart of the Freedom Quarter, this historic development marks a significant achievement for the Leeds LGBTQ+ community, providing an essential and inclusive space for support, connection and celebration.
The centre will be the first of its kind in Leeds City Centre, offering a much-needed hub where LGBTQ+ groups, organisations, and individuals can come together for meetings, events, and cultural activities.
Located just a short walk from Leeds train and bus stations, Pride Place will be easily accessible to residents of Leeds and West Yorkshire. The centre will feature versatile spaces to accommodate a wide range of community needs, from intimate group meetings to large-scale events and workshops.

In a statement reflecting the excitement surrounding the project, a spokesperson for Leeds Pride said, “We are beyond proud to be able to support Pride Place in the heart of Leeds. This centre represents a huge leap forward for our community, offering a safe, welcoming, and fully inclusive space where LGBTQ+ individuals can connect and find support. It’s an honour to provide the resources that our community needs and deserves, and we believe Pride Place will play a crucial role across Leeds and beyond.”
Pride Place will officially open its doors for bookings from 31st August 2024, and will be available for use by any LGBTQ+ groups, organisations, or individuals looking for a supportive space to host their activities.
