Our biggest celebration to date!

Leeds Pride 2024 Facts & Figures

This year, Leeds Pride made history with a record-breaking turnout, cementing its status as one of the UK’s most vibrant and inclusive pride events. An estimated 80,000 people joined the festivities, flooding the streets of Leeds with energy and pride.

The city’s newly expanded Lower Briggate site, was a major highlight, welcoming over 42,000 attendees throughout the day. The atmosphere was electric as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate!

One of the UK’s Biggest Parades!

The 2024 Leeds Pride parade was the largest in the event’s history, featuring a dazzling procession with 195 participating businesses, non-profit organisations, and charities. This remarkable turnout represented a diverse mix of local companies, global corporations, grassroots organisations, and advocacy groups, all marching to showcase their support for the LGBTQ+ community. The parade made its way through the heart of the city, transforming Leeds into a sea of rainbows, banners, and music. The scale of the event reinforces Leeds Pride’s standing as one of the UK’s premier pride celebrations, now among the biggest in the country.

What truly sets Leeds Pride apart is its commitment to being a free, accessible event for all to enjoy. Despite its enormous scale, Leeds Pride remains open to everyone, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent people from attending or participating. This ethos of inclusivity is deeply embedded in the fabric of the event, offering a safe space for people of all ages, backgrounds, and identities to come together and express themselves freely. The organisers of Leeds Pride 2024 were thrilled with the event’s success and have emphasised how important it is to keep bringing pride to the heart of Leeds.

“Leeds Pride continues to grow each year, and we are incredibly proud of what it means for our city. It is a time to celebrate diversity, spread awareness, and demonstrate the power of love!”

An Ever-Expanding Event

Leeds Pride has grown immensely over the years, not only in terms of attendee numbers but also in terms of what the event offers. Alongside the main parade, there were multiple stages set up throughout the city featuring live music, performances by drag queens, DJs, and speeches from key figures in the LGBTQ+ community. The expanded Lower Briggate site allowed for even more entertainment options, including food stalls, pop-up bars, and areas for relaxation, catering to the wide array of interests of those attending.

Looking Ahead

With the success of Leeds Pride 2024, the anticipation for next year’s event is already building. Plans are already underway to make Leeds Pride 2025 even bigger and better, with organisers exploring ways to enhance accessibility, increase participation, and create more opportunities for engagement and education. Whether it’s through an even more extensive parade, additional entertainment stages, or more interactive experiences, Leeds Pride is poised to continue making a powerful impact on the city and beyond. As the celebrations come to a close, one thing is clear— we’re not just an event; we are a movement that brings a spirit of acceptance to everyone who takes part. And with each passing year, that spirit only grows stronger.
